I missed this...
I don't follow Supernatural blogs anymore (I barely use Tumblr these days because of the stupid ship wars and the hate my fave is subjected to), so I don't read spoilers either, but today I decided to seek opinions of the last episode (since the last one was pretty awful and I'm not really looking forward to the rest of the season) and read that the new showrunner talked about some upcoming Castiel-centric episodes.

That should make me happy, because even with how badly he is written I still adore Cas, but... No, quite the opposite:

“We have at least three really strong Castiel episodes” coming up, executive producer Andrew Dabb tells TVLine. The first, airing Feb. 2, “presents a lost chapter of Castiel’s history.”
Viewers have long known that Cas “was part of the battalion that was watching Earth,” the EP notes. “He was the guy that harrowed Hell to rescue Dean Winchester. We established that, and now we’re taking a little twist on it and telling a lost story from his past that involves Lily Sunder, an old enemy of the angel.

This fills me with dread. If Edlund was writing this episode it would be a different story, but he's not on the show anymore, and he was the only one (Carver at times too) that really understood Castiel. So this "twist", knowing how the show fucks up with continuity and with Cas in general, looks like it's going to ruin one of the best things of Cas and Dean's backstory. I mean, they already kinda did when they made Cas say the same fucking words to Sam, and now they are adding another character... why? Well, I guess we know why, but it sucks.

And yeah, I should wait and see before forming my opinion, and I really, really want to be wrong, but we're talking about Supernatural here, and apparently Misha has said he's unhappy with Cas's direction, and when Misha voices his concerns, usually it turns out to be very bad...

Maybe this is the year I quit this show. We'll see in a few days.

Maybe we are not true fans. LOL
I can follow the show in Tumblr, just with gifs . If there's a great Destiel scene, I can then watch the episode.

Actually, I follow the show. I mean, I think I've moved on with the idea of Destiel. Don't get me wrong, I still love them, they are/were a great ship. But this is ridiculous, we cannot wait for the crumbs they throw us, every 4 or 5 years. Sometimes I wish Misha would quit the show, but I guess he needs the money, like everybody else. He could still go to cons, that's it, he could go to a lot of them.Like the others actors, but not in the show anymore. And 1 year later, Supernatural could be in all the Online news, like the show with the lowest ratings ever . Is that mean?

Only the bi-bros are the true fans!

You know, I wouldn'd mind THAT much that Destiel is dead if at least the show was still good. Last season had some great episodes. But this one is awful. They don't know what to do anymore, with anyone. Cas and Crowley teaming together? And they're a "comedic duo" after everything that happened the last time? The horrible British Men of Letters? The rehash of the same plot over and over again? Lucifer becoming a joke?
Yeah, it's not worth it just for a hug and the occasional "let's give them this scene so they don't stop watching". Misha deserves a lot better.

This show is gonna outlive us all, unfortunately.
